Light Bulb Color Temperatures

An important parameter when choosing light bulbs is the color of the light, which is measured in Kelvin degrees (K). The fewer Kelvin degrees, the more yellow the light; the more Kelvin degrees, the more bluish the light.

While incandescent and halogen bulbs can only produce warm white light, compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) and LED bulbs can produce light in various color temperatures:

Warm White

2500 – 3200 K

Cool White

3200 – 4000 K

Daylight

above 4000 K

The most suitable lighting for living spaces is bulbs with a warm white light color.

For workplaces and offices, bulbs with a cooler white light color are appropriate, while for factories and auto repair shops, light around 4000 K is suitable.
